Day 15
Day Fifteen: Three moments that broke your heart.
This one takes a little more thought, but here are three off the top of my head. SPOILERS AHEAD for you dumdums that still haven’t read the books and actually care about spoilers.
1. When the Ellimist pulls Elfangor back to the Andalites before telling him that Loren was pregnant. Oh my god, so many tears. You could really see how much he cared about her and about the child he never knew about. And then knowing who that child is and how he grew up and what he was told about his father his whole life, it really is heartbreaking.
2. When Tobias finds out that Elfangor is his father. Yep, I’m a total sucker for Tobias and Elfangor. I liked Loren too, but when she showed up again she didn’t have that same…spark. But yeah, book 23, when Tobias is told about Elfangor from Visser 3 no less, and has to just hold it all inside and pretend the guy was a nutter even though he KNEW who it was and just ugh! That is one of the most powerful moments in the series I think. And then the hawk who shows no emotions morphed human so he could cry and be emotional and how could anyone’s heart not break?
3. This third one is a bit of a surprise considering my feelings for Rachel, but her death is another scene that had me in tears. It was going to be heartbreaking from the beginning, the warrior being ordered by one cousin to kill another. Especially with her series long battle with her urge to fight and be the warrior. To be ordered to go off alone and kill your family because you’re the only one with enough guts to do it and knowing the whole time that you probably won’t come back…that has to hurt. I kind of feel for Jake too with that one, for having to be the leader and realize that she was the best choice no matter how hard it is to order your cousin to kill your brother but at the same time I can’t help thinking there MUST have been another way. Someone else to send. Even if there wasn’t, it just makes the whole situation more tragic.
But to top it off, like I wasn’t crying already, her last words. “I love you”. Now I don’t even like Tobias/Rachel. I don’t think they belong together. That doesn’t mean that I didn’t cry like a little baby and have to stop reading for a while. Those are the most touching last words ever and fuck it, I would’ve given up and been a bird for years too if the girl I loved died right after saying that. Broken heart, to the extreme.
Day 14
Day Fourteen: What would you choose for a battle morph?
That’s an easy one. Black Panther. I love how the big cats have that undeniable strength while still being agile stealthy. With a black panther, it’s like a spy, especially if it’s not too big. It can sneak around a building unnoticed, blending into the shadows and not making a sound, and at the last moment rip your head off with one swipe :D
I’m So Ashamed
I totally gave up on that Animorphs 30 Day Challenge. It beat me. I stopped at 13 days. This is horrible.
To make myself feel better I’m going to randomly post the rest of the answers throughout the next few days. And then I can start on that cool 30 day video challenge!
Day 12 - 13
Day Twelve: Your thoughts on Visser Three.
Ehhh…he’s a good villain. Evil, with enough of a backstory to keep him interesting but still consistently evil. At some points though he starts to seem like a bad guy from a kids show. Just there in every book to be the default bad guy and make things difficult. Long story short, he was good but he could have been better.
Day Thirteen: What would you do if given the ability to morph?
Now here’s an easy one! Be an animorph of course! I’d be fighting alongside them from the beginning, I’d love to protect the earth from evil invaders. And if for some reason I didn’t want to fight, I’m sure I’d still be morphing, no matter what Jake said. I’d love to turn into animals <3
Days 9-11
Day Nine: Your least favourite Animorph.
Cassie! I’m pretty sure her purpose in the books is just to be an annoying animal encyclopedia. It’s not just that I disagree with her on almost every point, it’s that she insists on ranting about how she’s right all the time and convincing the others to adhere to her moral standards. I’m pretty sure the war would’ve ended sooner if she didn’t get her way so often.
Day Ten: Your OTP.
Meh. I wouldn’t really call it an OTP so much as just a preferred pairing, but I really like Marco/Rachel. It’s partially that I think they are really good together and partially that I REALLY hate Rachel and Tobias together. I also think Jake and Cassie were really good together.
Day Eleven: A Controller you love…or love to hate
Oooh ok that would be Aftran. She’s the first yeerk that really makes them think about what it’s like to be a yeerk, and therefore the first one that gives us readers insight into the yeerks way of life. Plus she’s pretty cool :D
Days 6-8

Day Six: What is your opinion on the addition of the Auxiliary Animorphs?
Meh. I think it was a desperate act. It wasn’t thought out well enough and it wasn’t executed well enough. They didn’t get enough training and they were used as a sacrifice. Desperate.
On the other hand, the idea of Auxiliary Animorphs is a really good one. If they’d done it earlier - I won’t say the beginning, but earlier - the end may have turned out differently.
Day Seven: Who was the better leader, Visser One or Visser Three?
Seriously? Why is this even a question? They’re both psycotic and evil, both willing to kill their subjects. But Visser One also fell in love, had kids, and went easy on the humans because she had human children. Visser Three killed everyone without mercy, including his own twin brother. Or at least he tried to.
Day Eight: TV series, love or hate? Why?
Ooh. Ouch. Ok…Hate. And a bit of love. Mostly for the actors, Tobias and Jake especially. I mean Jake is Ice Man! And Tobias was just…*drool* And if you had no idea of what the books were like, the show wasn’t bad. Until an andalite showed up. Puppets? Seriously? That was painful. And since I did know what the books were like, the plots were just terrible. I still haven’t been able to finish watching because it’s so bad.
That said, I also own 2 VHS tapes and have the whole series on my computer. I do watch a couple episodes every now and then. And I never lose an opportunity to introduce someone else to it. It’s still a big part of Animorphs that I would never give up.
And before I forget - that theme song was awesome. It’s kind of a good metaphor for the show. A perfect start, but they couldn’t deliver more than a minute of awesome.
Day Five: What is your opinion on David?
Ok lets be honest here. That guy was a little snotrag. At first I didn’t think he was that bad…ok so he wanted to use the morphing power for personal gain, not everyone’s as noble as the rest of the Animorphs. But these people save your life and you try to KILL them??? And morphing Jake’s cousin was low. Not because David took his appearance, but giving that family the false hope? Trying to completely replace him? That’s evil.
Personally I think trapping him as a rat wasn’t good enough. I would have trapped him as a rat, kept him in a cage for a week, then fed him to his pet snake. Like I said, not everyone’s as noble.

Day Three: Your favourite morph.
Well anyone who knows me knows I love cats so yep that’s the fave! Followed closely by bird of prey and Great Horned Owl. I really wish I could morph a cat, even if just 2 hours at a time.
Day Four: Your favourite book, including Megamorphs, Alternamorphs, and the chronicles.
I love A LOT of the books, but my favorites are usually Tobias books. Probably the top 2 would be #33: The Illusion, and The Andalite Chronicles. 33 because, well, I’m a sadist and yeah…I kinda like my favorite characters being tortured into insanity. Shut up that’s not weird at all.
And the Andalite Chronicles is just a really good book. I love Loren and Elfangor together and knowing how everything started is really cool. We find out so many things about the rest of the series that Animorphs really isn’t complete without this book.
Day Two: Your favourite ‘good guy’ side character.
Erik the Chee. Ok maybe this one is cliche, but he was cool! I mean, who doesn’t like dog androids? And even if he did choose to be a pacifist, he was still a BAMF.
I still think he majorly messed up at the end though. Not saying everything would be better, but that was one time I definitely didn’t like him.
